According to police, a Great White shark was seen 75 to 100 yards from the shore, leading to a precautionary evacuation of the beach which remained closed for an hour. According to the Massachusetts State Police, "As more boats approached the area the shark was spotted in, the shark continued swimming Southeast into deeper water.
