Sanders, Inc. sold the historical document for $12,500 — significantly more than the $10,000 requested minimum bid. The letter, which Einstein wrote in 1939, was addressed to a hat merchant in New York who was involved in efforts to help European Jews escape the horrors of the Nazi regime.
