| Cleveland to release video of police shooting of 12-year-old boy Posted: 26 Nov 2014 10:08 AM PST By Kim Palmer CLEVELAND (Reuters) - Cleveland officials said they would release on Wednesday video of the fatal police shooting of a 12-year-old boy who had brandished a pellet gun. Tamir E. Rice was shot by a patrol officer on Saturday after a 911 call reported someone pointing a gun at people at the Cudell Recreation Center. Police asked Rice to raise his hands, but an officer shot him when he instead reached for the pellet gun, police said. He died on Sunday. Police have said the video, which has no audio, clearly shows what happened. It will be released at about 1 p.m. local time. ... |
