By Jon Herskovitz AUSTIN, Texas (Reuters) - Storms dumped rain on parts of Texas on Wednesday, bringing more runoff to swollen waterways that spilled their banks this week in places such as Houston, where floods have killed six people and caused chaos in the fourth most-populous U.S. city. At least 13 people have been killed in Texas from storms that started over the Memorial Day weekend and led to record floods, destroying hundreds of homes, sweeping away bridges and stranding more than 2,000 motorists on roads. The death toll in Texas was set to rise with numerous people still missing and thunderstorms pelting the already flood-hit cities of Houston and Austin.

Islamic State sympathizers may have been behind more than a dozen threats in the last two days to international flights using U.S. airports or flying over American airspace, U.S. law enforcement and security sources said on Wednesday. The sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that after 11 threats were received by U.S. law enforcement officers on Monday, at least four more were phoned in late on Tuesday. The threats were all similar and the caller claimed the flights were carrying some form of chemical weapons, they said, adding that investigators' leading theory was that sympathizers of Islamic State were responsible.

In a decision late Tuesday night, U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh in San Jose, California said people who sent emails to or received emails from Yahoo Mail subscribers since Oct. 2, 2011 may sue as a group under the federal Stored Communications Act for alleged privacy violations. Holders of non-Yahoo Mail accounts accused Yahoo of copying and then analyzing their emails, including keywords and attachments, with a goal of creating "targeted advertising" for its subscribers, in addition to detecting spam and malware.
