Twenty-one people were taken to Broward Health Medical Center for evaluation, one in serious condition, as 101 passengers and crew evacuated the Dynamic International Airways' Boeing 767-200ER using inflatable emergency slides, hospital spokeswoman Amy Erez said on Friday. Most of the injuries were bumps and bruises, according to Broward County Sheriff's Office spokesman Michael Jachles.


Officers kill Kentucky fugitive suspected in police shooting

Floyd Ray Cook, 62, was accused of attempted first-degree murder after allegedly wounding a police officer on Saturday in rural Tennessee and later shooting at a Kentucky trooper across the border, Kentucky State Police said. Cook, who had been on the run for days, was killed in an exchange of gunfire with officers south of Burkesville, Kentucky, police said.

The building was undergoing demolition work to convert it to the Aloft New York Midtown, a Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc hotel , expected to open in May 2018, according to the company's website. The owners of the New York City-based company performing the demolition work, Northeast Service Interiors, were at the site following the collapse, according to a company representative.
